Experimenting Hair as Lace

I began to develop the idea of using hair as a lace like covering and experimenting with how i could gain that texture using hair, i backcombed the extensions and hairspray then gently trapped the hair with straighteners. I love the effect that i have gained doing this although i would use thinner section of hair as i created strips of hair as shown within the images in-between the backcomb and this ruined the effect of the hair to symbolise lace. 

I tested this out again trying to arrange the hair so it didn't gather and create these strips in between the backcomb. I felt that it worked better but could still need some improvement. I feel that i would like to incorporate this into my designs as i feel that its very versatile when hairsprayd and straitened it is very easy to move and arrange i can imagine this to be layered over a style to symbolise the sexuality and femininity of lace in relation to the Pin Up culture or incorporated into a classic 40's 50's pin up design. I feel that i would like to use the lace hair in a different colour rather than brunet as my models hair i will be using and the wig is a dark brown i feel that i can incorporate colour within the hair lace to add depth and show the texture.
