I imagine that within this shoot my Pin Up girl that i would like to portray and think of is perfect, clean cut, beautiful and timeless while embodying the Pin Up culture through a classic 40's or 50's Silhouette. For the 3 different shoots i would like to create an idea or story so that i can have more of a idea to design for.
I have decided that i would base the three shoots on the idea that the Pin Up culture created ideals of the celebrity and challenged the hiarachy and potential of women in society. Allowing women to feel empowered and inspired by these images of Pin Up girls designed for a male environment. The Pin Up culture created a wave of embracing the sexuality and femininity of women in the 40's and 50's. I feel that the Pin Up culture symbolises this rather than today the medias idea of sexualising women is taken to the extreme and pushed into the graphic world compared to the femininty and provocative nature of these Pin Up images.
My Pin Up girl is timeless, perfect, clean cut and strong. I want to images to portray the pin up culture but not the era so i have taken elements that i feel the Pin Up girl would have done and transferred them into the modern day for example the Pin Up girl often went to visit men at war this is transferred into going to an appearance.
Extreme: Ready for a shoot for a poster or magazine.
Moderate: Visiting or going to an appearance/ performance.
Simple: Her at home in her bedroom looking at her fan mail.
